Kea

THE ISLAND
Kea (also known as Tzia) is a well-loved Cycladic island with long-standing traditions and an intriguing past. Your attention will be drawn to its picturesque landscape by its verdant fields, lofty hills, vineyards, olive groves, ravines, coves, and isolated beaches. It is also a well-known sailing destination due to its close proximity to Attica. As a lot of shipwrecks are located on its seabed, its waters are very popular with divers. In the island’s center, Chora was constructed on the foundations of the historic town of Ioulida, which served as Kea’s capital from the late Roman to the early Byzantine periods. It is a quaint little village with characteristic clay tile roofs, stone-paved streets, small terraces, galleries, and a challenging number of stairs.
